The right side of the ACE

This picture is the opening feature of the two-page + +  article on the Ace and the caption of the picture in the magazine states :

Compactness and a remarkably low riding position are outstanding featues of the Ace

(I appologise for the size of these pictures, but I trust you do not mind a little sideways scrolling to get the details)

The first Aces were equipped  with a rather  simple version of  "Troxel"  saddles. For 1922  this one had been replaced  by the  bigger "bucket"  type Mesinger No 3 attached to the same points.

The 1" Schebler H  carburettor takes its gas mixing air through a separated duct starting inside a vented chamber in the front of the silencer . From this little intake,  the fresh air  collects  heat as it passes through a tube inside the whole length of the  silencer and is led to the bottom of the  Schelber H in the usual manner.  Additional fresh air is drawn in through the Schebler H  by means of its celebrated Automatic Inlet Valve and may be adjusted even more  through the " high speed valve"  if needed.

Special features of the Ace Scheblers are: First, the plain three point mounting flange (same bolt pattern as HDs) but no protruding flange as on the others.  Second; the arm of the regulations is long, curved and highrising (parts no 163)and third is the angled intake horn which receives the preheating tube. from the exhaust . The 1920 Ace also had the  inefficient intake manifold seen more clearly in the drawing on another page.

Later Aces had  the options of Schebler De-Luxe carbutators.
